Sara E. LeMay OD FAAO

Optometrist, Retina Associates of Kentucky

Dr. LeMay earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where she developed a strong clinical foundation in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease. During her training, she completed an internship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, KY gaining extensive exposure to a wide variety of complex ocular conditions. She also completed an internship in a private practice that provided comprehensive care to all ages.

Prior to her doctoral studies, Dr. LeMay attended the University of Kentucky where she graduated with high honors, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and received special recognition on the Dean's List.

Dr. LeMay is an active member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), Kentucky Optometric Association, and she is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She is deeply committed to service and has organized and participated in numerous outreach initiatives, providing eye care to several underserved populations both locally and internationally. Her volunteer work includes clinical involvement with Special Olympics programs as well as programs overseas in countries such as Belarus, Jamaica, and Colombia.

Since joining Retina Associates of Kentucky in 2022, Dr. LeMay has completed a retina preceptorship and now practices in a complex ocular disease setting, where she manages a wide range of retinal conditions. She is passionate about advancing the field through education and aspires to share her clinical expertise through continuing education and other media platforms.
